Soloist & Recitals

London-based Violinist Reggie Clews regularly performs as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician. His extensive recital repertoire has been presented to a broad audience across Europe, North America, Asia and the UK. He has recently been featured in music festivals held in Verona's Villa Vercelli Cavriani, Brescia's Museo Diocesano, the Gaulitanus Music Festival, The Three Palaces Festival, The Malta Arts Festival, The Strada Stretta Concept, Valletta's historic Pjazza Teatru Rjal, and Malta's International Organ Festival to name just a few.

In addition to his violin & piano recitals, Reggie has featured as soloist with several orchestras including the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Komitas Chamber Orchestra, Imperial Valley Symphony, North Coast Symphony, Tefareth Israel Orchestra, and the California Consort. Amongst his most notable achievements is the 2019 tour of Nicolo Paganini's 24 Caprices, performed without interval in several venues across China, Romania, Italy, Malta and Gozo.

Chamber Musician

Reggie's profound love for chamber music finds him in constant pursuit of the vast repertoire for varying chamber formations. As a member of the Auris String Quartet and the MPO Quartet (comprised of principal members of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra), he has performed at several music festivals including the International Spring Orchestra Festival, Gaulitanus Festival, Three Palaces Festival, APS Festival, Malta Arts Festival, Victoria Arts Festival, and Valletta International Baroque Festival.

In addition to classical music, Reggie also imropvises Jazz and plays with a manouche/gypsy jazz band called Swing Nuages

Orchestral Violinist

Reggie recently moved to the UK after holding the position of Co-Leader with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra from 2013-2023 (a position he still holds while on sabbatical status) He continues his current orchestral commitments as first violinist with the National Symphony Orchestra UK, the European Chamber Soloists, the Kammer-Philharmonie Europa and as Leader of the Marcel Ensemble. He has performed for the Pope, President and Prime Minister alike and graced the stage of the most prestigious venues of the classical music world including: Musikverein Vienna, Berlin Philharmonie, Carnegie Hall New York, as well as touring extensively across 10 different cities in China, The Riyadh Film Music Festival in Saudi Arabia, The Symphonic Middle East in Dubai, The InClassica Festival in Dubai, the World Expo in Milan, The EU Central Bank Cultural Days in Frankfurt, The EU Presidency in Brussels, Munich, Wiesbaden, Stuttgart, St. Petersburg, and the four most prestigious venues Moscow.

Reggie has performed as orchestra leader on several occasions including for the Malta Film Awards under guest musical director John Powell for his Oscar-Winning score "How to Train Your Dragon", the Joseph Calleja BOV Foundation concert, and a special Papal visit to Malta for an open air mass; which were all internationally televised.
